Slogan tees began to make a come back as a result of celebrities sporting comic messages emblazoned across their chests. Many of these were controversial and we can all remember Britney Spears stepping out in a t-shirt that screamed I am a virgin but this is an old shirt. The slogan tee started with the expression of love. The I Love New York classic was the epitome of cool and was the very first slogan craze. This proclamation of love lead to other things until it seemed you could express your love for anything on your t-shirt. Celebrities embraced this trend declaring their love for fellow celebs. Madonna famously donned a t-shirt with the slogan Britney Spears on it for one of her shows and Britney later returned the compliment with a Madonna T-shirt. The pair later collaborated on the hit single In the Zone. When it comes to men’s designer t-shirts the slogans tend to be a little more humorous. What does your t-shirt say about you?

A recent trend when it came to women’s and men’s designer t-shirts was to show your support through fashion. This trend first came about in the Brad, Anniston and Jolie love triangle in which the Team Anniston and Team Jolie slogan t-shirts were seen on both the public and celebrities alike. The latest example of this comes with the break up of Peter Andre and Katie Price. Not one to shy away from attention, Jordan donned a t-shirt that stated Keep Calm and Carry On. The Team Katie and Team Pete men’s designer t-shirts were out in force upon news of the break up and Katie Price was spotted supporting herself in a Team Katie t-shirt while Pete retorted with a Team Children men’s designer t-shirt to add a bit of perspective to the debacle.
